Basic Rider Course:
Designed for novice riders of all ages, former riders or anyone wanting to learn the best and latest motorcycle techniques. You'll learn how to operate a motorcycle safely, with a lot of emphasis on the special skills and mental attitude necessary for dealing with hazards. A very important segment of the course will show you how to create your own strategy for riding in traffic, and deaing with critical situations.
The 16 hour course is comprised of 7 classroom hours and 9 hours on the practice range. You don't need a motorcycle. Area sponsors will supply the cycles for this program and we have helmets to loan. The practice range is free of traffic and provides a congtrolled learning environment.
The Motorcycle Basic Rider Course begins with a 5 hour class onFriday, starting at 5 pm, then continues on Saturday morning and Sunday.
Important Notes:
- For the range exercises, proper riding gear is required, eye protecton, full fingered leather gloves (preferably leather), long pants, sturdy footwear that covers the ankles, long sleeved upper garment and a helmet.
- A parent or legal guardian must be present at the beginning of the course to sign a liability waiver for students under 18 years of age.
- Range times could be extended, so do not schedule other activities on the same day you will be riding.
- You may need sunscreen.
- Classes have limited enrollment, so enroll early to reserve your place!
